"In the name of God amen I, James I. Dozier of Madison County in the

District of Kentucky being sick of body but of a sound and perfect

mind and memory blessed by God for his Mercy -- and calling to mind

the mortaility of my body and that it is appointed once for all flesh

to die do make constitute and ordain this to be my last will and

Testament in the manner following (viz) first of all I recommend my

soul to God who gave it a being at first, and my body to be buried

after a Christian form and as for my world State which it has pleased

God to bless me with, I give and bequeath in the following manner

(viz), Item I give to my son Zachariah Dozier and his Heirs fifty acres of

Land Joining the Tract where he now lives to him and his Heirs

forever, - Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth Davis fifty acres of

Land where she now lives during her natural life and after her decease

to her daughter Rebeckah Davis and her Heirs forever, - Item I give to

Rebeckah Scott the Land whereon she and her Husband now live during

their natural lives, to their son James Scott and His Heirs forever, -

Item I give to my daughter Sarah Montgomery one Hundred acres of Land

Joining the Tract David Scott now lives on and after her and her

Husband natural lives to their son Thomas Montgomery and his Heirs

forever, - Item I give to my son Leonard Dozier one Hundred acres of

Land Joining the Tract that David Scott now lives on the lower side,

Item I give to Susanah Crews One Hundred acres of Land Begining at a

Corner near Lewis's Mill, and to enclude the Improvement whereon she

and her husand Elijah Crews now lives, Item I give to James Dozier my

son one Hundred acres of Land whereon he now lives to him and his wife

& their Heirs forever, Item I give to my son thomas Dozier two Hundred

acres the Land wheron I now live, and also the Sorrel Stallion Colt

and also a feather Bed, - Item I give to my son John Dozier half a

Tract of Land that lies on Hardins run, Item I give to my Grandson

John Cash a Horse worth Ten pounds, it is my will and desire that

after my Wifes decease that my negroe fellow Adam shall have his

freedom, - Item I give unto Martha my Loveing wife the plantation

whereon I now live together with all the Personal Estate and all what

is due me upon bonds or accounts for her to subsist  on and after her

decease the Plantation to be for Thomas Dozier and not till then and

as for what Land and other property that has not been given away to my

dear Children shall remain used or the management of my dear wife for

her to sell and use and she sees cause for her subsistence and after

her decease all the remaining part of my Estate this is not been

bequeathed to be divided Equally between my five sons, I appoint

Leonard Dozier & Zachariah Dozier to be my Executors, and now I here

pronounce and declare this Will to be my last Will and Testament in

the presence of
